the challenge
Expanding the Pacific region’s digital capacity required a next-generation submarine cable system with ultra-low latency and high bandwidth. WFN Strategies was brought in to provide rigorous technical due diligence over multiple years of planning and design phases (2018–2022). The scope included validating system architecture, analyzing deep-sea topography, and anticipating environmental and seismic hazards along a multi-thousand-kilometer route.
Project complexity was heightened by cross-border coordination across three national jurisdictions and evolving technology standards. WFN supported periodic design updates, stakeholder reviews, and installation preparatory studies to ensure alignment with global submarine cable best practices. Ensuring technical robustness and long-term system reliability was critical for project finance and deployment success.
project goals
the result
WFN Strategies’ detailed due diligence empowered stakeholders to confidently advance through key project milestones, including financing, procurement, and licensing stages. The cable system is now positioned to enhance trans-Pacific digital connectivity, reducing latency and increasing data capacity across key digital trade routes. The success of this multi-year engagement underscores WFN’s expertise in managing large-scale, high-capacity international submarine infrastructure.
